Drop Offs – Updated January 2023
Too Good To Be True Consignment is a mid-to-high end Children’s and Maternity Shop focusing on maternity, nursing and children’s clothing, footwear, large baby/children‘s items, toys and books.
We have outlined below what we accept for consignment and specifically how to prepare your items for Drop-off and when items can be Dropped-Off. Please respect the guidelines below when sorting your items as items that are stained, show excessive wear (knobby) or covered in pet fur will not sell and must be donated. This unnecessarily uses storage space and also delays our processing, and sale, of the many great items that are being dropped-off. Thank you!
Please Note: As of January 2023, Appointments will no longer be required to Drop-off your items.
Overall Items We Accept for Consignment:
- SEASONALLY appropriate items (See Seasonal Guidelines below – basically we sell the same season as found in the mall)
- Brand name clothing only (Complete List of Brands Attached)
- Newborn to Big kids sizes 14/16 years in both boys and girls clothing
- Newborn to Big kids size 7 footwear
- Maternity & Nursing clothing in all sizes
- Baby items (both large and small) such as swings, bouncy chairs, cribs, crib mattresses, toddler beds, change tables, highchairs, booster seats, diaper genies, bottle warmers, bassinets, travel gear, cloth diapers, sleepsacs, strollers, carriers/wraps, etc.
- Toys, Books and Games
- Halloween Costumes (See Seasonal Guidelines below)
- Christmas Clothing (See Seasonal Guidelines below)
- Dancewear and Gymnastics Clothing & Footwear
- Skates & Skating Aids
Our General Seasonal Guidelines:
- Fall/Winter Clothing & Footwear (July – January ONLY).
- Spring /Summer Clothing & Footwear (February – June ONLY).
- Halloween Costumes (August – September ONLY)
- Christmas-specific Clothing (October – November ONLY)
- Large Summer Items such as wagons, push-cars, sandboxes, water tables, Kids tricycles, scooters and bikes (Must be in excellent condition with working chains and brakes and no rust), outdoor toys, small tables & chairs and toy boxes. (May – July ONLY) (*Note: We cannot accept Helmets unless they are NEW with Tags attached)
- Children’s Swimming Aids / Puddle Jumpers, Soccer Cleats and Baby Sunglasses (May – July ONLY)
- Skates & Skating Aids (September – January ONLY)
Items that can be brought in ANYTIME the store is OPEN:
- Maternity & Nursing Clothing and Accessories (Must be recent style, last three years, freshly washed and neatly folded in boxes)
- Pregnancy and Childcare books
- Children’s Books (Must not be written-on or torn)
- Baby items (both large and small) such as swings, bouncy chairs, cribs, crib mattresses, toddler beds, change tables, highchairs, booster seats, diaper genies, bottle warmers, bassinets, travel gear, cloth diapers, sleepsacs, strollers, carriers/wraps, etc. (Must be clean, wiped free of any stains, all straps included, if necessary)
- Large Summer Items such as wagons, push-cars, sandboxes, water tables, Kids tricycles, scooters and bikes (Must be in excellent condition with working chains and brakes and no rust), outdoor toys, small tables & chairs and toy boxes. (May – July ONLY) (*Note: We cannot accept Helmets unless they are NEW with Tags attached)

IMPORTANT DROP-OFF GUIDELINES FOR BABY & CHILDREN’S CLOTHING, FOOTWEAR AND TOYS:
- To ensure the quickest processing time possible, please inspect all items against the guidelines below. We will make a post to Facebook each Tuesday outlining the items we are most looking for at that time. Including what we currently have a lot of, and also listing items we are looking for and know will sell quickly.
- Baby & Children’s Clothing, Footwear and Toys can be dropped off to the store on Thursdays from 10am-6pm and Fridays 10am – 2pm ONLY. No exceptions.
- There is a 30-item Drop-Off limit for these items (Baby & Children’s Clothing, Footwear and Toys).
- **NEW** you will be provided with a tote upon arrival at the store and you must neatly place your items in the tote (30 items max). The lid must close and any items in excess of the 30 item limit are subject to automatic donation. Any large items such as toys will be labelled separately.
- A Drop-off consists of one tote only.
- Store Drop-off totes cannot be removed from the store.
- There is a minimum of seven (7) days between Drop-offs. Anything Dropped-off before seven days is subject to donation.
- All articles must be freshly laundered and free of any odours, neatly folded and stacked in a tote (removed from bags and hangers). It is the SOLE DISCRETION of staff what items are kept for consignment. All other items are immediately donated.
- It is ALWAYS in your best interest to bring in-season items. Whatever season the mall is selling is what we are selling.
OVERALL BABY & CHILDREN’S CLOTHING, FOOTWEAR AND TOYS DROP-OFF GUIDELINES:
- Toys, Games and Puzzles (Must have working batteries and all necessary pieces. Puzzles must be less than 48 pieces max).
- Children’s Outerwear (Sizes NB – 14/16), in all Brands.
- Children’s Footwear including Dress Shoes, Dress Boots, Sneakers, Rain Boots and Winter Boots (Sizes NB – Youth 7), in all Brands. No Slippers unless in Excellent condition or NEW with Tags.
- Brand Name Hoodies, Long Sleeve Shirts, T-Shirts, Short or Long-Sleeve Baby Onesies (Sizes NB – 14/16)
- Brand Name Athletic Pants, Joggers, Leggings and Jeggings (NO Jeans, Cords or Dress Pants) (Sizes NB – 14/16)
- Brand Name Dresses, skirts, shorts and tank tops (Sizes NB – 14/16)
- Sleepers and PJ’s (Sizes NB – 14/16), in all Brands
- Children’s Swimwear (Sizes NB – 14/16), in all Brands
When preparing your items for Drop-off, please remember:
- All clothing MUST be freshly washed and inspected for any stains, broken zippers, flaws and neatly folded in a BOX. Clothing cannot be accepted in bags as they must be stackable in our storage rooms. All Maternity & Nursing clothing must be in boxes with flaps that can close. All Baby & Children’s Clothing must be neatly folded in a Drop-off tote provided at the store.
- Footwear MUST be clean, not excessively worn, toes not scuffed, or dirty (free of dirt and mud).
- Furniture and child’s miscellaneous items (i.e., monitors, strollers, high chairs, swings, baby gates, play yards must be in clean-working condition with all pieces).
- All clothing must be seasonal appropriate and in-style within the last 2 years.
- Books (appropriate for baby – junior high age) – good condition with no markings or torn pages.
- Games (appropriate for children or the whole family) – with all pieces included.
- Puzzles (under 48 pieces max)
- Toys must have all pieces included and put in a baggie together (if necessary), with working batteries and cleaned before drop-off.

- Car Seats
- Helmets
- Electric Breast Pumps
- Pacifiers, Sippy Cups and Nipples
- Potties / Portable Potty Seats
- Children’s Undergarments, Socks or Tights
Expired or Recalled Items:
- We do our best to provide items that are in great condition and up to date. While we know it is difficult to monitor all the recalls and issue regarding children’s clothes and items, we take the initiative to provide items that are safe to the best of our knowledge.
